  • These are weave structures.

    Tabby creates a thinner, more texture cloth. Some might call it nubbly. Some might say it’s more of a tea towel.

    Twill is a thicker cloth and usually has a more complex look to its pattern.

  • All towels can be run through a machine washer in warm water and tumble dried on medium heat, if desired. Use of fabric softeners and dryer sheets is discouraged as these will both reduce the absorbency of the towel.

  • We are always creating new colorways and designs. Typically they are released twice a year. As new colors are released, we phase out older colors. And, sometimes we bring back fan favorites that our customers seem to especially love.

Studio Pickup

Local customers can pickup their items curbside! You’ll have the option to select shipping or pickup options during the checkout process.

Our pickup hours are Monday through Wednesday 10 am - 7 pm at the studio in Wiscasset, Maine. You’ll receive additional information upon selecting ‘studio pickup’ at checkout.

Can’t make it during our designated pickup window? No problem! Please email Hilary at thecultivatedthread@gmail.com to schedule a pickup outside of these hours.

Orders are shipped from The Cultivated Thread studio in Wiscasset

Shipping & Packaging

We aim to ship orders within 3 days of receipt of payment except on weekends and holidays. Items will be wrapped in plain kraft tissue paper with wash and care instructions included.

Orders are primarily shipped through USPS, typically through the First Class service, where weight allows. A USPS tracking number will be sent to your email once your order has shipped.

Shipping is calculated at checkout based on the total weight of the order. Please visit your cart to determine shipping costs.

Packaging

As part of our effort to minimize our environmental impact, we will be transitioning away from shipping in first use plastic. We are working through our last inventory of poly mailers and once they are gone, we are committed to shipping only in reused poly mailers, paper and cardboard. Priority will be placed on reusing clean, size appropriate boxes when possible. You can opt out of having your order shipped in reused materials during the checkout process.

Returns

We strive to create an incredible product. If you are unhappy with your order from The Cultivated Thread LLC., please contact us at thecultivatedthread@gmail.com and we will work with you to resolve any issues. The product can be returned within 21 days of purchase date if it’s unused and in its original condition. We do not refund shipping charges. If an order needs to be returned, the customer is responsible for return shipping and afterwards a full refund of your order will be credited back to your original payment method.
